Today I handled all of the airline info. I will be flying out of the Columbia Metropolitan Airport on Sunday, August 24 around 5:00 in the afternoon. I will have a short stay in Charlotte and switch planes for the final flight into Tucson. I will be arriving that night around 9:15. So...if any of you would like to see me off that afternoon, I would love to see you at the airport! My family will be flying out on Friday, August 30 so they can be there for preliminaries which begin the next day.
The final pageant with top 12 will be on Tuesday, September 2. I am going to miss seeing everyone during Labor Day, but I will have lots to keep me busy.
Friday you are all invited to the Peach Festival Parade. I will be making an appearance in the parade and after will have lunch with many of the dignitaries. I am so excited about that opportunity to talk with them about my platform, arts advocacy and also funding for DSS and other agencies that support foster care in SC. I look forward to all of these opportunities. I see them as a wonderful way to speak out on these issues!
